Sea Trekkers
is a marine adventure travel company, Sea Kayaking is our main
activity, we also offer Scuba Diving
and Island Hopping Safaris, around the Calamian group of
Islands up to the mainland Palawan.
Our
trips focus on “Natural History”, environmental awareness and
cross cultural education, by providing high
quality recreational adventures.
We
welcome
general adventurers
to
experience a totally unique, reefs to rainforest
adventure, and witness
a
nature
wonderland,
endangered
culture in its vanishing point in
an
ever
growing
pressure from
human impact
that they are facing, we exist to promote conservation
and cultural awareness.
In cooperation
with
island owners, we visit Calamian
island coastal regions, we create an awareness program for
the conservation of the
local communities
natural resources and
help protect, respecting
the privacy of the people.

Rannie
Dulay, a former mariner by profession, working with
"Lagoon Explorer" in 1993-95 a Catamaran
luxury boat, cruising around the Calamianes
group of Islands up to El Nido in
Palawan, where he earned his rank as quarter master, and
with 4 years work experience with one of the
world's most highly awarded eco-tourism company,
trained as sea kayaking lead
guide and managing its Philippine operation in
January 2000.
Left with
unfinished environmental conservation
project and community eco-management and
empowerment program, he decided to start his own
"adventure tours" with the aim to continue the
conservation project and program, by generating a sustainable
source of income to support the
project and program that was
started, by promoting
a high quality
standards recreational adventure
tours, in cooperation with
"Calamian Island Tours
Association", Discovery Divers,
Tagbanua Foundation of Coron Island
and John Gray Sea Canoe.
Hopefully
anybody can experience the magical and absolute nature
adventures, in the Philippines' last frontiers, a living
laboratory and the epi-center of biodiversity. |

The
"Calamian group of Islands" consist of Busuanga,
Culion, Coron and Linapacan island.
BUSUANGA
ISLAND, is the biggest of the
island group, serves as jumping point to all different
activities and links to the other island, were you can find
"Asia’s biggest Cattle Ranch" (YKR – Yulo King
Ranch ), Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary (were you
can see Giraffes, Zebras and other endangered endemic Philippine
species, some exotic animals was transported to the Phils. From
"Kenya, Africa during the time of late President F.
Marcos), Busuanga River – a great place to paddle and
experience its ecosystem, a reminiscent of Amazon, a visit to
"Maquinit Hotspring" for a relaxing soak. Coron Town,
is located at the Southern part of Busuanga island and
"Heaven for Wreck Divers", of different "Japanese
Wrecks" sunk during WWII.
From
Coron town, across a two kilometer sits the "magical" island of "Coron",
CORON ISLAND,
covers an area of approx. 75 Km. Its length is about 20 Km. Is "Ancestral
Domain to the TAGBANUA tribe of indigenous peoples, whose lives consist
generally of subsistence fishing and edible birds nest gathering. Coron Island
consist of dramatic limestone crags, which rise from the water edge and valley
floors to sheer vertical heights to 625 m.a.s.l. these "karst" were
formed 260 million years ago as a coral reefs in a shallow sea running the
length of SouthEast Asia, and uplifted by tectonic plates movements 30 million
years from Gualin, China to Sarawak, Borneo.
CULION
ISLAND, is use to be an old "Spanish
Colony" before it was declared a leper colony and around 13 island was part
of the reservation and now an emerging Municipality, worth visiting in Culion
town is the Museum and and the Catholic Church built on top of an old Spanish
fort, along the east cost "Fort Sn. Pedro is also an old Spanish fort
"ruin", going to fort Sn. Pedro, were one can lust mangrove forest and
a potential for "Dugong" (Sea Cow) sighting, navigating on the
"Southeastern" part of the island lies Dicabaito channel with
scattered white sand beaches and coral reefs and its crystal clear water awaits
for you to see. Western part of the island the well known "Halsey
Harbor" name after "Admiral "Bull" Halsey" were one can
find the most diverse or variety of healthy mangrove forest in the entire
Calamian and an awesome channel that link the sea to the fresh water river, a
good place to spot the endangered "Black Panther" accessible only by
quite sea kayaking. |
